  • SILURIAN CEILIDH - proposed for SAT 31st MARCH 2012 and run into 12.30am (hall allowing) so we can bill this as another 'ALL FOOLS' CEILIDH. All the usual suspects, tickets £6 - full details/guest spot to follow/finalise. Last October, we sold approx 100 tickets - and 50% of those were booked in advance ! So, watch this space for full details and certainly advise booking in advance to be sure of entry. Go to Silurian website, or contact Chris Mulvey fro more info.
  • New – a local ceilidh series...........at long last, it seems that a team is springing into action to try to get regular Ceilidhs going in the area. Broad details known at the moment.........Saturday 17th March 2012 - a 'Paddy’s Night ceilidh with Malthouse Passage Band at Powick Village Hall, Nr Worcester - see also http://www.myspace.com/malthousepassage
  • SAT 21st APRIL 2012 - another Ceilidh (again, I'm presuming, with Malthouse Passage) at Upton-upon-Severn Memorial Hall. (Over the last few years, Chris Mulvey has bumped into numerous local dancers bemoaning the dearth of local ceilidhs and that they have to go to Stroud, Bath etc for such type of events. No longer !) Alan Courtney (band member of M/H Passage) is listed within this group – hopefully he will use the group list to announce full details in the near future regarding band / caller(s) / guests / ticket prices etc.
  • [ See news from Alan in Folklife West print magazine copied online to Worcs news & ads pages ]

(Thanks to Chris Mulvey for info on all the ceilidh news etc.)

If any of you have an event or additional information that is not listed please let me know, and I will circulate the details.

Thanks and best wishes,

John T
